On 23rd August of 2026, the Rotaract Club of APIIT continued its monthly ‘Food Fur All’ initiative under the Environmental, Wildlife & Animal Welfare Avenue with the aim of distributing food for stray animals such as dogs and cats and promoting kindness and care towards them. This project not only helped us distribute food and care towards stray animals but this project brought everyone together as a community and gave us opportunity to work as a great and supportive team.
As a part of this project, we were divided into three teams to work on the project, but before beginning the distributing activity we worked together to purchase the ingredients and supplies which are needed for the meal, organized the things very carefully and prepared the food with care. The cooking part was of the most enjoyable parts of the project. We worked together preparing the meals, shared responsibilities and prepared everything on time. Cooking together helped us communicate very well and improved our teamwork skills.
Once the food was prepared, around 10.30 a.m. , the teams went to the selected areas to start the feeding activity. We were able to feed more than 9 stray dogs on each area, providing them with a proper meal. Being able to see the animals enjoy the food made the efforts worthwhile. The team members made sure the activity was carried out in a good manner and that the surroundings were tidy.
Throughout the project, we supported one another and worked together to complete each tasks. From buying the ingredients upto feeding the stray animals, everyone contributed in their own way.
After completing the activity, we came together and took some pictures as a group to capture the memories of the day. These moments reflected the teamwork, friendship and the enjoyable experience we shared through the project.
Overall, “Food Fur All” was a successful, rewarding community service experience. It allowed us to improve teamwork and organizational skills while doing something positive for stray animals. The project reminded us that even a small effort, when made together can create a big difference.
