"Know the risks. Protect your digital identity"
Though rotaract club of apiits award winning community initiative, voiceit came to an end, it's legacy continues. VoiceIT 2.0 takes over, giving a platform for silenced voices and spreading awareness to make our community a safer place. This should not just be limited to our physical environment, but also our digital space.
As our first phase, we aim to help teenagers understand the impacts of misused ai today's social media driven world. With deepfake content and misinformation overloading our screens, it is harder than ever to find trustworthy sources and identity the fakes. Due to the accessibility of these tools and programmes, there has been an inflex of cybercrime, with many being victimized to blackmail and losing their autonomy to the point of suicide.
With Face Value, an online webinar organized through voiceit, we aim to migityaye this issue by educating out teens in the proper uses of ai and how to identify and notify such crimes. Held on the 20th August 2026, this session was conducted by Mr. nirosh Ananda, the Chief Information Security Officer of the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team CERT|CC, who gave us valuable insighnt in how deepfakes are created and minimize it's harm.
This opened the beginning for voiceit 2.0 and we aim to make sure it's legacy lives on through more initiatives such as this.
As to create a better tomorrow, we need to take action today.
