Ashirwada is a heartfelt multi faith initiative organized by the Rotaract Club of APIIT to mark the beginning of a new Rotaract year with blessings unity and purpose. Chaired by the two Club Service Directors Rtr. Umar Shafeek and Rtr. Rashini Perera the project brought together board members committee members and active members to visit places of worship representing Sri Lanka’s diverse religious communities. The journey provided an opportunity to seek guidance for the year ahead while celebrating the country’s rich cultural and religious diversity.

More than just a ceremonial visit Ashirwada was a chance for members to connect on a personal level reflect on their responsibilities as leaders and begin the year with gratitude humility and hope. Visiting different places of worship encouraged participants to appreciate one another’s beliefs strengthen friendships and embrace the values of respect understanding and inclusivity.

The project reflects the true spirit of Rotaract by promoting peace fellowship and service beyond differences. It also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by encouraging inclusion strong partnerships and mutual respect among communities.

Ashirwada is more than the first project of the year it is the foundation upon which the club builds its journey of service. It reminds every member that meaningful leadership begins with compassion unity and respect for others. By starting the Rotaract year together with positive intentions and shared values Ashirwada inspires members to serve their communities with integrity kindness and a common purpose setting the tone for a year filled with impactful projects lasting friendships and meaningful change.
