BAILA FRIDAY 25: A Night of Music, Motion, and Memory

August 1, 2025, A date now just marked on the Rotaract Club of APIIT calendar, but in the memories of everyone who stepped into the vibrant, music-charged atmosphere of Park Premier at Excel World, it became more than just a party.

Baila Friday was not just a party.
It was a celebration of rhythm, unity, and the irreplaceable joy of being young.

As the evening sky dimmed over Colombo, the hall began to pulse with energy, especially with the organizing committee's dance!
Not to forget DJ Vehan and DJ Ash taking charge of the decks. The crowd was swept into a whirlwind of Sinhala Baila, fiery Tamil beats, and the kind of tracks that make you dance without a care in the world.

But music was only half of the story.

What truly made the event beautiful and alive were the people and the moments:

  • - Rotaractors and Interactors

  • - Friends reconnecting over shared laughter

  • - Lecturers and faculty members setting aside their roles and dancing along with the students

  • - And, of course, the ramp walk for the Baila King and Queen

These were the things that made this event sensational!
It was a reminder that celebration transcends titles, backgrounds, and even generations.

From spontaneous circles of dancers to phone lights waving in the air, from unforgettable outfits to carefree laughter echoing through the night, Baila Friday was not just another social.

It was the night where culture met connection, where music became a language, and where we all remembered that it is okay to let go and live in the moment.

Baila Friday was not just an event.
It is a feeling, one that everyone who was there would not forget anytime soon.
