CHAPTER II : Where Legacy Was Put into Action
The Rotaract Club of APIIT successfully conducted its second General Meeting of the year on 24th August 2026, providing members with an opportunity to connect, collaborate, and look ahead to the clubs upcoming activities.
August was clearly a month where the theme Legacy in Action" was reflected through the actions, projects, and participation of every member of the club.
Rtr. Senula Silva, our President, began the meeting by welcoming everyone and appreciating the punctuality of the members.
Members were encouraged to volunteer for the ICA Marathon, organized by the Indian High Commission. A key announcement was also made regarding the club 8th Installation Ceremony, which is scheduled to be held in late October or early November and will have an external committee. Furthermore, members were encouraged to apply for the organizing committee of the concert hosted by Rotaract District 3220.
The club reviewed the projects that were successfully concluded during the month of August, including Sharp Eyes Learn Better, Hill Country Visit, FoodfurAll (July), Rotaractive, VoiceIT 2.0 (Phase 01 | Face Value), Nadun 5.0, FoodfurAll (August), and Baila Friday. These projects provided every member with opportunities to serve, build friendships, and make a difference.
Baila Friday, one of the biggest fundraisers at APIIT, concluded with over 400 participants. Every member who attended, as well as the members of the Organizing Committee, was appreciated for their contribution and dedication. In celebration of the successful project, a cake was cut by the Chairpersons, Project Coordinators, and Vice President.
The meeting also looked ahead to upcoming initiatives, including Committee Confidential, Akshara, My Country Through My Eyes, PickleX, Yaal 4.0, and the Prospect Initiative. These projects will continue the momentum of the club and provide further opportunities to serve and create a meaningful impact.
The meeting also recognized several members for their enthusiasm and commitment. Rtr. Alaan, Rtr. Senuki, Rtr. Kaveen, Rtr. Lakila, Rtr. Ahmad Munaf, and Rtr. Mirsha were recognized for their dedication and involvement. The Finance Avenue was recognized as the Avenue of the Month, while Baila Friday was recognized as the Project of the Month.
While celebrating birthdays, watching the monthly recap video, enjoying fellowship, and sharing refreshments, the meeting concluded with smiles all around.
July was just the beginning, and August was clearly where Legacy was put
into Action.
