Where Legacy in Action Begins

Every new journey begins with a first step. On the 24th of July 2026, the Rotaract Club of APIIT gathered for its first General Meeting of the Year.

More than a meeting, it was the opening of a new chapter, one shaped by the theme, Legacy in Action. 

Our President Rtr. Senula Silva started off by welcoming the new members, especially the new faces joining the Club, and encouraged everyone to step forward, take initiative, and embrace the opportunities that the Club offers.

We talked about the exciting district initiatives that were lined up for the year ahead, the Hill Country District Visit, SEARIC Summit, and ROTASIA 2027, with each promising new friendships, experiences, connections, and opportunities beyond the Club.

The Club also looked back at the projects that were chaired during the month of July, Project Ashirwada, Club Fest, and Clean SL, which reflected the spirit of service, collaboration, and fellowship that continues to drive the Club forward.

Looking ahead, the avenues unveiled an exciting lineup of initiatives, from Voice It, Project Nadun, Project Yaal, and Food Fur All to Project Akshara and DigiVerse, each offering members a chance to serve, connect, learn, and lead.

The meeting also celebrated those who made a difference. Rtr. Krishnapriya, Rtr. Raqeeb, Rtr. Yousuf, Rtr. Nevanya, Rtr. Disandi, and Rtr. Pathum were recognised for their contributions, while the Membership Development Avenue was named Avenue of the Month and Project Ashirwada Project of the Month.

The evening concluded with a monthly recap video, birthday celebrations, fellowship, refreshments, and a Kahoot game.

This First General Meeting signified that this was only the beginning. And now it's time to put Legacy in Action.
